How the Custom Process Works
- Submit Your Request: Use the form below to share your inspiration, timeline, and any reference photos.
- Design Consultation: I’ll follow up to discuss design ideas, materials, and timing.
- Quote & Deposit: You’ll receive a custom quote. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to begin production.
- Creation Time: Each custom Sailors’ Valentine is a labor of love. Because no two are alike, we’ll collaborate with you to set a timeline that honors the artistry involved.
- Delivery: Your finished piece is shipped fully insured with tracking and signature required.
At Melissa Dudley Designs, custom pieces are a true collaboration—crafted with care, creativity, and intention. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to begin any custom design. This covers materials and the time invested in creating your one-of-a-kind piece.
Because of the nature of this work, remakes or major design changes are not offered once a piece is complete. If your vision changes after seeing the final design, that’s okay—your deposit becomes a store credit, which can be applied to any future ready-to-ship piece in my collection.
Each custom piece is a single creative interpretation, not an open-ended process. I welcome inspiration and input—but I appreciate your understanding that my custom work is limited to one thoughtful attempt.
